Why 'stay in your lane' matters

Our local government is intended to be a pool of resources (tax dollars, land...) that are managed for the benefit of our city as a whole.  Personal and political bias must be set aside when you are elected to serve on City Council, that is why City Council is a non-partisan office.  Westerville families deserve the freedom to run their households their own way—without interference.

Council members are elected to manage public funds, not to impose personal agendas. The City Council is not the place to make a political statement for social media likes.  Political Bias is divisive in the community.  City Council needs to stay out of this lane.

Safety, Service, and Maintenance of the city are 98% of the main responsibilities for City Council.  People can have different beliefs and still work amicably and effectively together.  Responsible stewardship and thoughtful planning while setting personal bias aside is what is expected from the voters.  I would call this approach staying in your lane.

If you agree that City Council should 'stay in your lane' I would appreciate your support and most importantly your vote on November 4, 2025.

What is at stake this election?

Parental Rights

Invocation Removal

Parental Rights

In 2025 it started with Ordinance 2025-02.  Most likely you never knew this resolution was passed.  It was the first step into managing YOUR family inside YOUR home.  Unless you vote wisely many more parental rights will be removed.

Activist politicians love to offer feel good ideas with taxpayer dollars.  No matter how well intentioned, when you wear your activist hat in the council role you are not doing your job.  If an activist would like to financially support non-citizens at their home I love that for them, but don't force the burden on everyone.

Thanks to the strong response by Westerville citizen against the motion to remove invocation before council meetings, the topic was tabled.  It was tabled because of this election. If this issue matters to you know who you are voting for.
